Harmonization of Radiological Impact Assessment Methodologies of
Uranium Mill Tailings Repositories
Part I: General overview Workshop organised by Ms. Servant, France The French project is concerned with the impact and performance assessment for mill tailing impoundments and aims at developing coherent strategies. The variety of methods for the assessment of radiological impacts used in different countries makes it difficult if not impossible to compare them. A detailed study is planned to develop an appropriate methodology and calculational tools to evaluate the radiological impact of mill tailings impoundments and uncertainties related to the natural variation of some phenomena (for example exhalation of radon) and their long term behaviour. The participants in the CRP are being invited to contribute to this project. Detailed information will be distributed by Ms. Servant. |
