James D. Dargie
Obtained a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agriculture from Glasgow University, UK in 1966 and a Ph.D. in Veterinary Parasitology from this university in 1969. From 1966-1982 he was involved in teaching and research in animal physiology and parasitology at the Glasgow University Veterinary School and undertook a number of expert assignments on behalf of FAO and IAEA to African countries. In 1982 he was appointed Head of the Joint FAO/IAEA Division's Animal Production and Health Section and retained this position until 1995 when he was appointed Division Director.
