ECOCROP provides indications on the level of adaptability of crops to environmental conditions and includes more than 1700 plant species indicating for each of them climate and
soil requirements. The software enables the user to identify suitable crop or tree species for a specified environment based on local climate and soil conditions, such as temperature,
rainfall, light soil texture, depth, pH, salinity and fertility. Ecocrop 1 is also able to identify plant species according to the use(s) indicated by the user such as food, fodder or pasture,
green manure, energy, fibre, timber, industrial purposes, and many others.
