Land-cover data derived from satellite image interpretation and ground truthing. The land cover classes are based on the Land Cover Classification System (LCCS) developed by FAO. Data
is available for Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda. The methodology applied by AfriCover is intended to be
used for Global Land Cover (GLCN) programme which intends to produce a standardized land cover layer at global level.
