Installing and removing the PDWork Utilities Pack

Installing the PDWork Utilities

The PDWork Utilities Pack can be installed by one of the following methods:

Click the 'Install chemical analysis utility software' button when you run this training CD. The rest is the same as in Method 2 (see below).

Open the file pdwork.exe in the \install folder of this CD, PDwork.exe is a self-extracting compressed archive.

Click here to browse this directory; or
click here to open the file pdwork.exe now [File size: 1.8 K] (select 'Open' when asked 'Save' or 'Open').

After opening the file, you will be asked to specify the name of the folder where the files will be installed. Give a name, e.g. d:\pdwork, all the files will then be copied to this folder.
If you wish, you may want to manually create some short-cut in the Desktop linking to pdwork.xla.

Alternatively, you can also copy the individual files selectively when necessary. All the individual files are stored in \pdwork folder of this CD.

Click here to browse this directory;

Manually create a folder in your computer, e.g. d:\pdwork,
Copy all/some of the PDWork Utilities files into this folder.
If you wish, you may want to manually create some short-cut in the Desktop linking to pdwork.xla.

 

Removing the PDWork Utilities

To remove the PDWork Utilities from your computer, simply delete the folder where the files are installed or copied, e.g. d:\pdwork in this example. The installation does not alter your system setting nor place any files to your system directory.
