Proficiency Tests
The world wide open proficiency test IAEA-CU-2008-03
on the determination of natural radionuclides in phosphogypsum and spiked water
Target group : Laboratories interested in the analysis of naturally-occurring radioactive materials (NORM)
Matrices : Phosphogypsum and spiked water
Analytes(tentative)
Phosphgypsum : Pb-210, Ra-226, Th-230, U-234, U-238
Spiked water : Gross alpha, gross beta, Ra-226, U-234, U-238.
Activity level : Below 1000 Bq kg-1 for each of the radionuclides in phosphogypsum
and below 3 Bq kg-1 for each of the radionuclides in the spiked water.

| 1 September 2008 | Organiser confirmation of the participation in the PT |
| 15 November 2008 | Shipment of the samples |
| 15 May 2009 | Results submission deadline |
| 10 June 2009 | Individual evaluation reports (please click here to log-in) |
| First quarter 2010 | Participants meeting (one day) for presenting and discussing the Proficiency Test results and to present participants' best practices in NORM analysis. The meeting will be held in Vienna, Austria. Attanding the meeting is at no cost to the Agency. |
