Proficiency Tests

The IAEA-CU-2009-04 ALMERA proficiency test on the determination of  gamma emitting radionuclides in simulated air filters

The objective of this proficiency test is to evaluate the performance of ALMERA network laboratories in the measurement of gamma-emitting radionuclides in simulated air filters.  Participation in this proficiency test is voluntary and at no cost to the laboratories.

List of analytes(tentative):

Participants will be requested to analyse four filters number for the following radionuclides: 54Mn, 57Co, 59Fe, 60Co, 65Zn, 109Cd, 125Sb, 133Ba, 134Cs, 137Cs, 152Eu, 154Eu, and 241Am. It should be noted that only some of the listed radionuclides are present in the filters. The levels of the radionuclides are such that they can be measured within a 4-hour measurement period using a conventional HPGe g‑spectrometer of 20% relative efficiency. Results should be reported within 3 working days from the date of sample receipt confirmed by DHL.
