Databases

The Library provides access to more than 50 databases. Librarians are available to assist users with their research. The data received from the service is to be used only by IAEA Library users and for official purposes. The user agrees to respect and comply with all copyright notices applicable to the resources; Not to remove or obscure copyright notices on the data or documentation; Not to transfer, by any means whatsoever, any data or documentation received from the service (or copies thereof), to any person, organization or institution outside the IAEA; Not to sell, exchange, barter, transfer, rent, lease, loan, resell for profit, distribute or in any other manner commercially exploit any data received from the service, except for use as part of the ordinary attorney-client or library-patron relationship.

More than 3,350,000 bibliographic records and over 106,000 full text documents on the environmental impact of energy production and use, including climate change; energy R&D; energy policy; nuclear, coal, hydrocarbon and renewable energy technologies. Since August 2003, ETDEWEB includes historical information from ETDE's Energy Database, which began in 1987, as well as historical information back to 1974 from US DOE/OSTI's Energy Citations database.

High Energy Physics (HEP) Database »
The SPIRES-HEP database has been run by the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) since the late 1960's as a database of particle physics literature.

Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals » (1985-present)

A collection of 6,000+ full-text online journals and 27,000+ publications of academic and professional content. Search bibliographic citations and abstracts and access the full-text of selected journals subscribed to by the Library.

Inside Conferences
Contains details of all papers given at every congress, symposium, conference, exposition, workshop, and meeting received at the British Library Document Supply Centre (BLDSC) since October 1993.

INSPEC (1969-present)
Produced by the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE), the INSPEC database contains abstracts and index citations for articles from more than 3,400 and 2,000 conference proceedings (includes all fields of physics, electrical engineering and electronics, computing and information technology, materials science, nuclear engineering, geophysics, and biomedical engineering).

International Nuclear Information System » (INIS)

Nuclear Science Abstracts » (NSA)
NSA is a comprehensive collection of international nuclear science and technology literature for the period 1948 through 1976, predating the INIS database. NSA includes citations to scientific and technical reports from the AEC, the U.S. Energy Research and Development Administration plus other agencies and international organizations.

ODS » (United Nations Official Documents System)
The United Nations Official Documents System (ODS) covers all types of official United Nations documentation, beginning in 1993. Older UN documents are, however, added to the system on a daily basis. ODS also provides access to the resolutions of the General Assembly, Security Council, Economic and Social Council and the Trusteeship Council from 1946 onwards.

PROLA »
The American Physical Society's Physical Review Online Archive. The complete archive consists of the Physical Review Series I, II, and III, Physical Review Letters and all of Reviews of Modern Physics. The majority of the collection consists of scanned images of the printed journals available as either GIF images or as PDF files.

ScienceDirect offers more than a quarter of the world's scientific, medical and technical information online. Browse or search over 2,000 peer-reviewed journals back from volume 1, issue 1 and access about 400 full-text journals published from 1995 onwards. The service also contains the Encyclopedia of Analytical Science, the Encyclopedia of Atmospheric Sciences and the Encyclopedia of Energy. Register for personalization and alerting services.

Science Conferences »
The OSTI Science Conferences portal provides the capability to search for conference information on multiple web sites and databases with a single query utilizing a combination of surface web and deep web tools that can reach where ordinary search engines cannot. Emphasis is on U.S. conferences hosted and/or published by scientific and professional organizations whose areas of focus relate substantially to the Department of Energy's mission. Also possible to search and access the full-text of a subscribed service, the AIP Conference Proceedings.

Scirus is a comprehensive science specific search engine available on the Internet or via ScienceDirect. It covers more than 85 million science-related pages and can pinpoint precise scientific information that other search engines can not reach, including pdf files and peer reviewed articles.

The OECD's Online Library of books, periodicals and statistical databases provides access to the full-text of publications and reports from the International Energy Agency (IEA), Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) published from 1998 onwards.
