The IAEA Board of Governors convened a meeting at the Agency's headquarters on Monday, 10 September 2012.
Director General Yukiya Amano opened the meeting with an introductory statement. Access his full statement here.
During the week the Board will discuss a number of issues, including the Director General's report on Implementation of the IAEA Action Plan on Nuclear Safety.
Board discussions are also expected on the implementation of safeguards in Iran, Syria and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea; the Nuclear Security Report 2012 and Nuclear Security Fundamentals; and the application of IAEA safeguards in the Middle East.
