IAEA Briefs Member States on Latest Developments in Japan

Denis Flory, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of Department of Nuclear Safety and Security, reported on the latest developments at the stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant and addressed issues relating to the International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale (INES) after Japan elevated the INES rating it has assigned to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident.
