9, Wednesday. UN Security Council Resolution on Iran. The Security Council imposed additional sanctions on Iran, expanding an arms embargo and tightening restrictions on financial and shipping enterprises related to "proliferation-sensitive activities". The resolution calls for IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano to report within 90 days on whether Iran has fully suspended uranium enrichment activities, in line with a previous Council demand. IAEA Receives Letters on Iran Fuel Supply from France, Russia and U.S. IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano informed the Board of Governors that he had received letters from the Governments of France, the Russian Federation and the United States concerning the provision of nuclear fuel for the Tehran Research Reactor. 8, Monday. IAEA Statement on Iranian Enrichment Announcement. The IAEA has received a letter from the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), in which the AEOI informed the Agency that production of less than 20% enriched uranium is being foreseen at the Pilot Fuel Enrichment Plant at Natanz for fuel for the Tehran Research Reactor.
