IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei circulated his latest reports on nuclear safeguards in Iran to the Agency´s Board of Governors, the 35-member policymaking body. 27, Saturday. UN Security Council Resolution on Iran. Taking note of a report by IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution that "calls upon Iran to comply fully and without delay with its obligations" under previous resolutions of the Security Council, and to meet the requirements of the IAEA Board of Governors. 22, Monday. IAEA Board Begins September Deliberations. IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei briefed the IAEA Board of Governors on a range of issues, including nuclear safeguards, technical cooperation, and safety and security. Full Story

IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei has circulated a report to the UN Security Council and IAEA Board of Governors on the Implementation of the NPT Safeguards Agreement and Relevant Provisions of Security Council Resolutions 1737 (2006), 1747 (2007) and 1803 (2008) in the Islamic Republic of Iran. 5, Wednesday. Statement Following Adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 1803 (2008). The Governor for the Russian Federation and Resident Representatives of China, France, Germany, UK and USA, with the support of the High Representative of the European Union, requested the IAEA Secretariat to release the text of a statement on the occasion of the adoption on 3 March 2008 of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1803 (2008). 3, Monday. Security Council Authorizes More Sanctions Against Iran Over Nuclear Issue. The UN Security Council has imposed a third round of sanctions against Iran over its nuclear programme citing concerns of "the proliferation risks presented by the Iranian nuclear programme." The resolution calls for IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei to report within 90 days on whether Iran has fully suspended uranium enrichment activities, in line with a previous Council demand.
