ANENT is a new partnership of government, academia and industry for cooperation in education, training and research in nuclear technology and nuclear applications in Asia. It was established in February 2004 at the first coordinating committee meeting organized by the IAEA in Kula Lumpur, Malaysia. Its objective is to facilitate cooperation in education, related research and training in nuclear technology in the Asian region through sharing of information and materials, exchange of students, teachers and researchers; establishment of reference curricula and facilitating mutual recognition of degrees and serve as facilitator for communication between ANENT member organizations and other regional and global networks. Currently there are 28 participating institutions from 12 countries (Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Republic of Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam) and six networks as collaborating members.

ANENT web-portal (Website of ANENT) is intended to establish the infrastructure for promoting, managing and preserving nuclear knowledge and facilitating the following activities:

  • Communication among member institutions
  • providing connections with useful education and training resources e.g. web-sites
