IAEA Meeting on Nuclear Knowledge Management

From 17-19 June 2002, the IAEA convened a high-level meeting of senior officials -- from academia, government, industry, the IAEA and other relevant organizations -- on the theme of “Managing Nuclear Knowledge”. The meeting aimed to increase awareness and understanding of this emerging concern, to share national and international experience, and to recommend steps forward.

Other objectives of this meeting were to better comprehend the scale and severity of concerns related to knowledge management, to learn what countries are already doing to deal with these concerns and to consider how the international community might work together to provide solutions. The meeting also discussed the respective roles falling to the major players in the nuclear community such as academia, government, industry, the IAEA and others.
