ITER Canada is a not-for-profit corporation supported by the federal and Ontario provincial governments and by members which include universities, labour, industry and local governments committed to locating the world's ITER fusion energy development project in Canada. Formed in 1997, its mandate is to support the establishment of the ITER facility, and prepare and promote Canada as its host. The mandate includes contributing Canadian expertise to the underlying Research & Development and technical design of ITER. A board of directors and observers, drawn from its supporters and members, oversees and directs ITER Canada's activities.
