Since January, 2001 a new ISTC program Technologies Database Program has begun its activities. The objective of the program is to establish an information exchange infrastructure concerning research activities and their application potential in Russia and the CIS and, thus, to promote cooperation between Russia/CIS and foreign countries. The program is fulfilled in the Japanese Deputy Executive Director Department. With technical assistance from the Information Management Group, the Program Manager implements the program. Procedures include:
  • collection of information on research activities and existing technologies in Russia/CIS both by the Secretariat or out-sourced to the Russia/CIS organization handling research information;
  • editing and consistency check of database;
  • distribution of the database to the Parties and other institutions;
  • establishment of portal services, facilitating access to different databases;
  • development of tools and techniques to perform better data access.
