KFAS: Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences

Established : 1976 Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), a Private organization oriented towards public service, was established according to an Amiri Decree issued on Thel Hijja, 1396 A.H., 12th December, 1976. KFAS is managed by a "Board of Directors" chaired by His Highness The AMIR of Kuwait. The Board comprises six members nominated by "Kuwait Shareholding Companies" for a period of three years. The general aims of KFAS are to support efforts for modernization and scientific development within the State of Kuwait.
