Abstract

The results of corrosion tests of matrix graphites based on calcinated (30PG graphite) and non-calcinated (MPG graphite) petroleum cokes in the temperature range 600-1200 deg. C and at the water vapour concentration in helium 0.01-1 vol.% are considered. Empirical expressions of the corrosion rate are obtained. Investigation results of matrix-graphite phase-components reactivity are considered. It is shown that the filler graphite 30PG has the minimum activity towards the water vapour. The influence of helium pressure at the constant partial pressure of water vapour, porous structure and of the impurities' content on the matrix graphite oxidation rate are considered. The results of corrosion tests of irradiated specimens of 30PG matrix graphite are given.
