Abstract

This paper explains the principle of operation of ControI Rod Dive Mechanism (CRDM) in Fast Breeder Test Reactor (FBTR) which is a 40 Mwt loop type reactor. It discusses the problems faced and solutions evolved during testing of CRLM in air and in sodium and during operation in reactor. Surveillance tests carried out with CRDA4s in pile are also discussed
