Knowledge Portal CD-ROM

The ageing of existing nuclear workforce, declining number of students studying nuclear subjects, decreasing number and the dilution of nuclear programmes and ageing research facilities are major current international concerns.

In line with IAEA’s initiatives and priorities in the area of nuclear knowledge management, the Department of Nuclear Safety and Security department has developed a Nuclear Safety Knowledge Portal to pool, analyze and share nuclear safety knowledge. It is the intention of the Agency to make the experiences of the portal available to the Member States and to support and provide guidance for the application of the portal according to the specific needs of the Member States.

In the framework of Technical Cooperation Project RAS/9/028 a CD-ROM has been developed containing tools and prototypes for the development of a nuclear knowledge safety knowledge portal. This CD-ROM contains files to be used as examples for the implementation of a nuclear knowledge portal. The main emphasis is laid in how to organize the knowledge domains in an organization, thus the content is intended only to give inspiration and ideas and should be further developed by the users to meet their specific needs.

A detailed knowledge management report has been produced describing the approach of the development of the portal.

The CD-ROM contains the following folders:
