INIS ONLINE THROUGH STN INTERNATIONAL

The INIS Database is maintained at the Fachinformationszentrum (FIZ) Karlsruhe, Germany, and is accessible through STN International, the Scientific and Technical Information Network, operated co-operatively by FIZ Karlsruhe, Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) of the American Chemical Society (ACS), Columbus, Ohio and the Japan Science and Technology Corporation, Information Center for Science and Technology (JICST), Tokyo.
Requests for access to the INIS Databases via STN International should be sent to one of the STN Service Centers.

INIS DATABASE AS PART OF ENERGY DATABASE

All member countries of the Energy Technology Data Exchange can have have access to INIS information in the Energy Science and Technology Database (INIS is included in the Database). The Database covers worldwide energy-related information on energy sources, use and conservation, regulatory considerations, as well as basic scientific studies. It covers the period from 1974 to the present and contains more than 3.8 million records.
  • The ENERGY database is available via STN. Requests for access to the INIS and/or ENERGY Databases via STN International should be sent to one of the STN Service Centers.
  • The Energy Science and Technology Database (File 103) is also available via DIALOG. Contact the DIALOG Office.

DOE ENERGY SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY DATABASE ON CD-ROM

The Department of Energy (DOE) Energy Science and Technology Database (of which INIS is a subset) contains worldwide references to basic and applied scientific and technical research literature related to energy sources, sciences, and technologies. The extensive information sources include journal literature, conferences, patents, books, monographs, theses, government reports, and engineering and software materials.
The information is provided by the U.S. Department of Energy, its contractors, other government agencies, professional societies, and through the International Energy Agency's multilateral information program, Energy Technology Data Exchange (ETDE), and the International Atomic Energy Agency's International Nuclear Information System (INIS).
The Database covers the time period from 1974 to the present and is offered in 3 coverage options: 1992 - present; 1986 - present, and 1974 - present. Requests for the Database on CD-ROM should be directed to DIALOG Offices around the world.
