Does INIS offer training for staff at the IAEA?

Yes. Any IAEA section, unit or individual staff,  wishing to have a demonstration of retrieval from the INIS Database and the INIS non-conventional literature (NCL) full texts, with emphasis on their specific information needs, may contact the INIS Section to request such training. A short training session will be arranged tailored to the needs of those staff, using either the INIS Database on CD-ROM or the INIS Database on Internet, as the users prefer.

May my organization participate in the OECD/NEA Data Bank's Computer Program Service through the IAEA, and if so, how may I go about applying?

If your country is a Member State of the IAEA but not a Member of the OECD/Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), then your organization may apply to participate in the NEA Data Bank's Computer Program Service (CPS) } through the IAEA.

To apply for such participation, contact the Permanent Mission of your country to the IAEA, preferably through your national atomic energy authority. You should inform the Permanent Mission that you wish to participate in the Computer Program Service available to IAEA Member States as described in circular letter STI-330-9 from the Director General of the IAEA. The Permanent Mission will then contact the Director General of the IAEA informing him of your desired participation and nominating a person at your organization to act as liaison officer between your organization and the NEA Data Bank. The liaison officer should have experience in both computing and scientific calculations for nuclear energy applications. All later contacts between your establishment and the Data Bank would be made through this liaison officer.

After your organization has been accepted as a participant, the liaison officer can request programs contained in the NEA Data Bank collection free of charge and he/she will receive a set of NEA publications.

More information about the OECD/NEA Databank's Computer Program Service is available in the Products/Services Section of the INIS Home Page.
