Conference Article: The Feasibility Study on PCPV In Modular HTR
Shuyuan He, Xinxin Wu, Jisheng Wang, Institute of Nuclear and New Energy Technology, Beijing, CHINAAbstract
It presents the technical feasibility study of prestressed concrete pressure vessel (PCPV) used in Modular HTR(MHTR) as pressure boundary components. The steel pressure vessel used in the MHTR now is not only bulky, difficult to transport and higher cost, but could not be manufactured in China. PCPV is used to instead steel pressure vessel and it emphasizes to solve technical crux, such as mechanics nodes and residual heat removal in the multi-cavity of PCPV. The successful solving of these cruxes will boost MHTR’s technical practice and economic, and improve its safety which will be meaningful for its market application.
