Abstract

Powder methods of preparing microspherical fuel kernels can be used in the production of fuel elements for high temperature gas cooled reactors. These methods are advantageous because of their simplicity as they do not require the construction of complex equipment and the granule production process is easily controlled. Characteristic properties of the preparation of fuel kernels by the method of mechanical granulation have been studied. The method is demonstrated to provide a high effectiveness in the production of high-quality fuel kernels
