Conference Article: Czechoslovak approach to the potential of HTGRs' introduction
Jakesova, L.; Podest, M. (Nuclear Research Institute, Rez (Czechoslovakia)); Pinkas, V. (Czechoslovak Atomic Energy Commission, Prague (Czechoslovakia)Abstract
Czechoslovakia - a rather small country with developed utilization of nuclear electricity production in the Soviet types of PWRs - WWERs - is looking forward to the prospects of high-temperature heat provision for processes enabling better utilization of brown coal resources, in the first range with view to the ecology impact improvement. The introduction of the HTGRs could be the best way to solve these problems in the most convenient approach - i.e. through the international co-operation with the USSR. Key words: Nuclear Heat Application, High Temperature Heat, HTGR reactor safety, coal gazification
