Abstract

Depletion of fossil fuels resources and gradual increase in cost of their extraction and transportation to the places of: their consumption put forward into a line of the most urgent tasks the problem of rational and economical utilization of fuel and energy resources as well as introduction of new energy sources into various sectors of national economy. The nuclear energy sources which are widely spread in power engineering have not yet used to a proper extent in the 'sectors of industrial technologies and residential space heating which are the most energy consuming ones In the national economy. The most effective way of solving this problem can be the development and commercialization of high temperature nuclear reactors, as the majority of power consuming industrial processes and those involved in chemico-thermal systems of distant heat transmission demand the temperature of a heat carrier generated by nuclear reactors and assimilated by the above processes to be in the range from 900° to 1000°C.
