Abstract: The application of fuel element flowmeters in SNR 300 requires the proof that they are working within the specified error tolerances under reactor conditions. Since a first test series was not completely successful due to an insufficiently designed experimental plug, two flowmeters were inserted into modified plugs within a second cycle of experiments. The present report deals with the results of these tests. In view of the measuring task in SNR 300, the experimental results are interpreted and the magnitude as well as the shapes of linearity errors, temperature errors and drifts are described. Disregarding an initial instability of the experimental signals, which was caused by a ferritization of the austenitic cladding steel (1.4948), it has been proved that the flowmeter fulfils the requirements within the specified error tolerances and that it is suitable for application in the SNR-300. With these tests KNK could provide an important result for decisive monitoring components of sodium cooled reactors
