Conference Article: Seismic analysis for the FBR core mock-up RAPSODIE experiments using the SAFA program
Horiuchi, T.; Motomiya, T. (Hitachi Ltd, Ibaraki (Japan). Mechanical Engineering Lab.)Abstract
As a part of the TAEA/IWGFR coordinated research program on LMFBR seismic analysis codes, the results of the RAPSODIE core mock-up experiments conducted both in air and in water by France were analyzed and the experimental and computational results were compared. The computer program named SAFA developed by Hitachi, Ltd. to analyze core component vibration of fast breeder reactor core components during seismic excitation was applied to the benchmark calculation. The calculations discussed in this report were conducted using a single-row (one-dimensional) configuration model although the SAFA program can handle a two dimensional configuration, with which calculations will be performed in the near future. For the experiment conducted in air, the calculations gave close results to experimental ones. For the experiment in water, however, a relatively large discrepancy was observed between the calculation and the experiment especially in the neutron shield responses. Since the difference between actual parameters and the input data for calculation may cause the disagreement, modification of the data should be made based on the further information on experimental conditions.
