Conference Article: Consideration on safety margin in Joyo thermal design
Inoue, T.; Yoshino, F.; Izumi, A. (Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corp., Tokyo (Japan))Abstract
This report gives an outline of core system related with the thermal design of JOY0 and, as design policy, an explanation on the special circumstances characteristic to JOY0 and outlines-of considerations made regarding power peaking factors and safety margin, both of which are vital in the thermal desire. Meantime the method of selecting factors for individual safety margin, both of which are treatment and concrete value and the reasons for considering such safety margin are also discussed in detail. Survey study was performed on the hot spot analysis by considering various methods of treatment. The values of individual safety factor were decided, taking into consideration the results of various confirmation tests regarding performance of the reactor core embodiment of design specifications and evaluation of design data.
