What are IAEA News Feeds?

IAEA News Feeds allow you to see when the IAEA.org web site has added new content -- enabling you to get the latest news stories, press releases, statements, job openings and even video clips -- without actually having to first visit the site.

Feeds are commonly referred to as RSS. There are a number of interpretations as to what the term stands for, but most commonly used is "Really Simple Syndication". In brief the feeds are especially coded web pages, designed to be interpreted by computers not people.

How to use IAEA News Feeds

To use IAEA News Feeds, you would need a program called a 'newsreader'. This piece of software checks the feeds for new content, retrieves that content and presents it to the user for reading. There are many variations, some needing to be downloaded and installed on your computer and others as an add-on to popular web browsers. (Please see box for a list of recommended 'newsreaders'.)

Once you have chosen a newsreader the next thing to do is to decide what content you would like you want to receive and then copying and pasting the web address of that feed on the 'subscribe' field in your newsreader. For IAEA.org, as well as in many other web sites, RSS feeds are typically linked with the word "Subscribe", an orange square feed icon, a feed icon xml icon, or a rectangle with the letters XML or RSS.
