What the ??? What's heavy metal
What's heavy metal? In nukespeak, it's not hard rock sounds of Metallica. It's a term used in technical measurements of used nuclear fuel, usually calculated in metric tons of heavy metal (MTHM). It refers to the heavy metal mass of plutonium, uranium, and thorium in the spent fuel. Check out these instructive links:
