Director of Public Information and Spokesperson, IAEA
Mark Gwozdecky joined the IAEA as Director of Public Information and Spokesperson in February 2002.
Before coming to the Agency, Gwozdecky spent 20 years in the Canadian Diplomatic Service. Most recently as Director of Nuclear and Chemical Disarmament Implementation Agency. Gwozdecky’s diverse diplomatic career saw him work as the Olympic Attaché to the Canadian Olympic Team, 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, to coordinator of Canada’s Mine Action Team to address the global landmine problem.
Gwozdecky was awarded the Canadian Public Service Award of Excellence in 1998.
