CSD-15 could not agree on new negotiated text. Thus the 2001 CSD-9 decision on energy and the 2002 Johannesburg Plan of Implementation remain the operative CSD texts on energy. Both keep the nuclear power option open. A "Chairman's summary" of CSD-15 was circulated several weeks later. It has much less authority than negotiated text.
On 7 May 2007, the IAEA organized a side event together with the OECD/NEA jointly to discuss important issues facing CSD-15 in connection with nuclear power’s role in sustainable development. To see the PowerPoint presentations please click on the appropriate link.
