World Energy Assessment (WEA, 2000)


In 2000 the WEA published Energy and the Challenge of Sustainability as input to the April 2001 Ninth Session of the Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD-9).

The report was jointly sponsored by the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and the World Energy Council (WEC) and written by a diverse board of international experts, including H-Holger Rogner, Former Head of the IAEA’s Planning and Economic Studies Section (PESS).
