INDICATORS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT SIDE EVENT.
On 25 April 2001, the IAEA organized together with the OECD International
Energy Agency a side event on the IAEA-led project Indicators
for Sustainable Energy Development.
This interim report
described
the first phase of the project, including the development of a set of 41
indicators, and their initial testing in 15 countries.
PREPARATORY INPUT.
Prior to CSD-9 the IAEA was asked to contribute material for the Ad
Hoc Open-ended Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Energy and Sustainable
Development. This background paper
addresses
all aspects of nuclear power's potential contribution to sustainable
development. It includes five case studies exploring the possibility
of nuclear power projects qualifying as Clean
Development Mechanism (CDM) projects under the Kyoto Protocol.
