Strengthening and Harmonizing Quality Management Systems.
The IAEA developed a new set of Safety Standards that establishes requirements and provide guidance for applying an integrated Management System for facilities and activities. The new standards replace the IAEA 50-C-Q Code on Quality Assurance for Safety in Nuclear Power Plants and other Nuclear Installations, as well as the related 14 Safety Guides contained in the Safety Series No.50-C/SG-Q (1996) [1].

To increase the capability of Member States for improved planning and implementation of nuclear power programmes and establishing and enhancing national nuclear power infrastructure through the utilization of proven engineering and management practices developed by the Agency.

To enhance the capability of Member States to utilize proven practices accumulated, developed and transferred by the Agency for improving personnel performance and maintaining its high standards.
To demonstrate how positive attitudes and professionalism, appropriate performance management, adherence to a systematic approach to training, quality management and the use of effective information and knowledge management technologies contribute to the success in achieving organization objectives in challenging business environment.
