This VIDEO provided by ANSTO of recent work in the dismantlement of their small Argonaut research reactor (MOATA) provides some very fine shots of the preparations and process of setup for decommissioning that could be applied to all such small facilities. Worker Safety is paramount and can be seen in the detailed shots of protective clothing use and monitoring. The film also provides close-up detail of waste containers, handling tools, and the approach to removing the graphite reflector blocks and core components. It shows concrete cutting and crushing details used in the bioshield dismantlement and final decommissioning, cleanup and site restoration.
