Electronics Group General information
The Electronics Group is part of the Instrumentation Unit, which belongs to the Physics, Chemistry, and Instrumentation Laboratory (PCI) of the IAEA Laboratories (NAAL), Seibersdorf, Austria. The group provides service and maintenance of traditional spectroscopy systems and detectors, takes care about service and repair of analytical instruments and laboratory equipment, assist laboratories in Member States in upgrading and repair of PCs including software installation as well as programming, upgrading and administration of LAN. The Electronics Group designs and develops interface to scientific equipment and instruments not available commercially. The other activity is to conduct and support training courses at Seibersdorf and in Member States in frame of the IAEA's Technical Co-operation Programme.
The group is subdivided into the following teams:
- Analog: responsible for traditional spectroscopy systems and detectors, power supplies, PC-monitors, protection of instruments
- Digital: responsible for all kind of instruments equipped with micro-controllers and interfacing to PCs
- PC: responsible for soft- and hardware installations, upgrading PCs, installation, upgrading and administration of the Laboratory LAN
