- WAN link to IAEA Headquarters for Internet, e-mail and access to servers

- IAEA standard SW suite
- Non-standard scientific SW in the Laboratories
PC and Network operation & maintenance
- Network should be available 7/24 i.e. 7 days a week, 24 hours a day
- new PCs have a 2 year parts and labor warranty and for other PCs we stock some spares
- Aim: to have PCs running within 4 hours of failure
Other Activities
Training Support
Up to 20 PCs for training courses with Std IAEA setup Wired up in a separable network segment with or without Internet access.
Internet Café
11 PCs available with Standard SW and Internet connection for Fellows to write their documents and reports as well as to surf the Internet and to stay in touch with their home environment via e-mail.
Video Conferencing
Via 3 ISDN lines, switched via VIC worldwide video conferences are possible and regularly used for scientific cooperation, interviews and seminars
Telephone System
A local telephone switch connected with a trunk line to the central switch in the IAEA Headquarters with some outside lines
