Technical Meeting on Milestones in the Development of a National Infrastructure for Nuclear Power

The IAEA document 'Milestones in the Development of a National Infrastructure for Nuclear Power' (IAEA Nuclear Energy Series No. NG-G-3.1) was published in 2007 and has become a widely used reference document for establishing new nuclear power programmes. It provides a phased and comprehensive approach to nuclear power infrastructure development and a detailed description of the full range of issues to be addressed.

In 2012, the IAEA initiated an update of the 'Milestones' document to take into account outcomes from Integrated Nuclear Infrastructure Review (INIR) missions, relevant IAEA documents published since 2007 and lessons learned from the Fukushima Daiichi accident.

The primary objective of the meeting is to present and discuss the updated document, and receive feedback from Member States to be taken into account in the final version. A draft revision of the 'Milestones' document will be shared with participants prior to the meeting.

For additional information regarding participant eligibility, please refer to the Information Sheet below. Please also note that the deadline for nomination, through official channels, is 20 March 2014.
