Workshop on Degradation of Structural Materials of Primary Components of NPP
The objectives of the workshop are to provide participants with information on the degradation of ferritic and stainless steels in reactor pressure vessels (RPVs), piping steels and core internals; and the degradation of other alloys in water environments relevant to reactor vessels and core internals, steam generators, fuel cladding, irradiated components, fuel storage containers, and to the balance between plant components and systems. Furthermore, the workshop will cover materials degradation issues for supercritical water cooled reactors and other technological issues of current fleet of light water cooled reactors. Following experts’ presentations, working groups will discuss the priorities and gaps in identified research and technological areas.
