Databases to Support NPP Performance and Life Cycle Management and Improving Human Performance, Quality and Technical Infrastructure

In order to support activities related to NPP operating performance and life cycle management and improving human performance, quality and technical infrastructure, there is a need to maintain relevant databases. A number of information systems and databases have been established at the Agency either to support programmatic activities or to provide services and products to the Member States. These collect and disseminate information on NPP operating experience, outages, decommissioning, training, lifetime extension, non-electrical applications, and country nuclear power profiles which serve as the basis for most analyses and the assistance provided to the Member States. This project emphasizes the Agency’s role in free exchange of information, knowledge preservation and providing tools and mechanisms to assist in the decision making process. It will be carried out in conjunction with other organizations such as NEA, WANO, WEC (World Energy Council), EURELECTRIC, Nuclear Energy Institute of the USA and the Electric Utility Cost Group (an association of US and non-US utilities and operators which has had a leading role in establishing and collecting cost of nuclear power plant operations). Beneficiaries of these activities are the utilities, technical support organizations in Member States, other international organizations, as well as other Agency programmes.
