IAEA Board of Governors Concludes June Deliberations

On 11 June, the IAEA Board of Governors concluded its five-day meeting.

Before the Board commenced its deliberations on Monday, 7 June, IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano delivered an address, providing an update on a range of issues, including the NPT Review Conference´s outcome, the continuing discussion of refuelling the Tehran Research Reactor, safeguards application and implementation, as well as the Israeli nuclear capabilities, technical cooperation, cancer control and verification.

During its June session, the Board considered international cooperation in nuclear, radiation, transport and waste safety, strengthening the IAEA´s nuclear science, technology and applications, as well as nuclear verification. On its final day of deliberations, the Board approved the Package Proposal for the 2011 IAEA Budget.

The Board of Governors will next meet on 13 September 2010.
