The two-week peer review meeting on the Convention on Nuclear Safety will commence on 14 April at IAEA headquarters in Vienna. Contracting parties to the Convention will be reviewing the reports submitted pursuant to Article 5 in accordance with the procedures adopted under Article 22 of the Convention.
Parties to the Convention on Nuclear Safety meet every three years. The 14-year-old Treaty, with 61 Parties and 65 Signatories, is an international agreement that commits participating States to maintain a high level of safety in the operation and regulation of nuclear power plants.
