25 February 2008 | The IAEA Board of Governors will convene a regular meeting at the Agency´s Headquarters at 10:30 on Monday, 3 March 2008, in the IAEA Boardroom, C04, in the Vienna International Centre.
Director General Mohamed ElBaradei will open the meeting with an introductory statement. His statement will be released to journalists after delivery and posted on the IAEA website the same day.
Two reports, The Nuclear Safety Review for 2007, about developments to strengthen international cooperation in nuclear, radiation and transport safety and waste management, and the Nuclear Technology Review for 2008, about Agency activities related to strengthening nuclear science, technology and applications, will be presented to the Board. Reports by the Director General on the application of safeguards in the Democratic People´s Republic of Korea, the implementation of the NPT safeguards agreement and relevant provisions of Security Council resolutions 1737 (2006) and 1747 (2007) in the Islamic Republic of Iran, will also be presented.
The meeting is closed to the press.
Photo-Op:
There will be a photo opportunity at the beginning of each morning and afternoon session. Camera crews should arrive at IAEA headquarters by 10:00 on the opening day and 09:30 on subsequent days, and proceed to the Boardroom on C04. Positions in the Boardroom must be taken by 10:15 on the opening day and 09:45 on subsequent days, or 14:45 for afternoon photo-ops.
Press Working Area:
Journalists may use the press working area on C03 (for print press, radio and TV) starting from 09:00 on Monday, 3 March 2008.
