Attended the IAEA Workshop on Y2K Contingency Planning, November 1999
  • The NPP in the Netherlands used the NEI/NUSMG 98-07 guidance to verify Y2K programme.
  • Internal risks were categorized
  • The inventory contains 965 items containing a CPU of which 82 were found not to be ready: fire protection, dose registration and access control systems are examples. None of the problems were in high-risk areas.
  • All 82 have been remediated.
  • External events identified are loss of off-site power (a two- week supply of diesel fuel is on-site), loss of communications (additional radios and portable generators) and depletion of consumables.
