SOUTH AFRICA At 22.33 hours (UTC) of 1 January 2000, the Emergency Response Centre of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was informed by the South Africa's competent authority/point of contact responsible for issuing notification and information under the terms of the Convention on Early Notification of a Nuclear Accident that no nuclear safety related problems had occurred during the immediate Y2K transition period in the nuclear power plants of that country in time zone UTC + 2. |
