| NUCLEAR FACILITIES |
The status reports principally focus on countries that have participated in Agency activities related to nuclear safety and the performance of electricity grids. These countries have nuclear power plants in operation or under construction, as reported to the IAEA Power Reactor Information System. Most of these countries also have research reactors in operation, as reported to the Agency's Research Reactor Database.
Additionally, a number of countries also have participated in activities related to radioactive waste management and nuclear fuel cycle facilities, as reported to the IAEA Nuclear Fuel Cycle Information System. |

| MEDICAL FACILITIES |
| The IAEA also has organized meetings on issues relating to safety measures and Y2K at medical facilities that use radiation generators and radioactive materials. A report of the latest workshop (in pdf format), 29-30 June 1999, and the participating countries summarizes discussions, and related links on the Agency's Y2K Web pages provide additional references in this field. |
 |
| IAEA SAFEGUARDS |
| Y2K issues related to nuclear safeguards and physical protection of nuclear materials have been another component of Agency activities. An international forum was held early in 1999, with follow-up action since then. |
