9 December 2009 | IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano met the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Lesotho, the Right Honourable Bethuel Pakalitha Mosisili, at the Agency headquarters in Vienna, Austria, on 8 December 2009.

Prime Minister Mosisili and the Director General discussed Lesotho´s recent membership in the IAEA. The Government is hoping that Lesotho will be able to benefit from the Agency´s assistance in several areas of interest, in particular with regard to cancer therapy, but also in the areas of agriculture, the environment and mining.

Director General Amano expressed the Agency´s willingness to support Lesotho in its activities relating to the peaceful application of nuclear technologies.
