- General Conference Adopts Resolutions on Nuclear Issues
At its concluding session today, the IAEA General Conference adopted resolutions on nuclear issues, including the implementation of safeguards in North Korea and the application of IAEA safeguards in the Middle East. More than 100 States met at the Conference in Vienna this week. More »
- States Endorse Strengthening IAEA's Work
In adopted resolutions, States meeting at the IAEA General Conference supported a range of activities to further strengthen IAEA activities related to safeguards; nuclear security; technical cooperation; nuclear science, technology & applications, as well as international cooperation in nuclear, radiation and transport safety, and waste management.
- Newly Elected IAEA Board of Governors for 2005-06
Following IAEA General Conference elections of new members this week, the IAEA Board of Governors for 2005-06 now includes the following 35 States: Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Belarus, Belgium, Canada, China, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Egypt, France, Germany, Ghana, Greece, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Republic of, Libya, Norway, Portugal, Russian Federation, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Syria, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, United States of America, Venezuela, and Yemen.
